  • Might Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie - by Supreme-Court

    Introduction:

Bandai tries to do it again with the power rangers license. It attempted to build upon the success the other two Power Rangers games had by modifying the first game's fighting system while implementing some of Fighting Editions features.

    Graphics [7.5/10]:

This game's graphics are easily recognized by fans of everywhere. Still this isn't the best graphics at its time, but it commands enough respect to be called "very good". The colors are true to the movie's theme. The characters are represented finely. The backgrounds are colorful too. But, as I said before, this game's graphics did not cause a revolution of any sort. Basically, the graphics isn't jaw-dropping, good OR bad.

    Sound & Music [6.5/10]:

Maybe I am personally biased. But after hearing the tunes so many times, shouldn't Bandai change the music a bit? Standard "Go Go Power Rangers" is still here, along with other movie-exclusive tunes. Fans would immediately recognize, as always. The sound effects are adequate but not excellent. You certainly won't mistake an enemy's death yell with your own character's battle cry.

    Gameplay/Fun Factor [7/10]:

You know? One feeling while playing this game is "been there done that". No matter how hard Bandai tried to modify the gameplay, it would always be plagued simply by one thing: Final Fight is an overdone license and so is the fighting system. After all these years after Final Fight had been released, this is just not that exciting anymore. But on the plus side, the Final Fight fighting system will never be boring.

    Conclusion/Overall [6.5/10]:

This game isn't that fun. That is the bottomline. The gameplay is fine and so is the graphics. The sound is pretty good too. But all these had been done before. This game brings nothing fresh to the table. With other superior games out there at the time of this game's publish, it's easy to see how an above-average game can manage to ruin the Power Rangers license on video games.
